All children worked in groups or in pairs and discussed how things could have changed since Mr Wild was at school. We covered how televisions have changed from small black and white models with one or two channels to watch to the huge multi coloured multi - channel interactive televisions that we have today. We also discussed the fact that schools either had no computers at all or maybe one per class and in schools of today we not only have computers but we have laptops where we can access the 'Internet' As a whole class we spent a lot of time discussing all the other different things that have changed over the years and children who had access to the internet at home come up with many more changes that we might expect in the future. The power of the future was also a hot topic and the children all decided that solar power and wind power was the way to go in the future even though new technology could change things very quickly. Transport was also covered and we looked at self drive cars, electric cars and even cars that run off of water, it was also suggested that in the future maybe solar powered cars would be available as well. Once everyone had decided what sort of things would appear in their village of the future all children added their own details to the present Elkesley Village map as well as producing a key and their own information explaining their village.
